Thessaloniki International Student Model United Nations

10th Anniversary
April 27-May 1, 2011

Welcome letter of Professor P. Naskou-Perraki, Chief Academic Officer for ThessISMUN

Dear students,

I welcome you at the 10th Annual Thessaloniki International Student Model United Nations (ThessISMUN) 2011, a successful Model UN, Council of Europe and North Atlantic Council, gathering students from all Greek Universities and Universities from all over the world ready to show their diplomatic skills. Founded one decade ago, ThessISMUN is the only one Model UN organised in Greece and a supportive one for UN Models in all our neighbouring states.

Thessaloniki International Student Model United Nations 2011 will take place April 27-May 1, 2011, and is dedicated to Mr. Constantin P. Economides

ThessISMUN gathers undergraduate and graduate students from around the world for 5 days youth summit to simulate discussions of different bodies of UN and regional organisations. ThessISMUN offers you one of the most cherished and educational experiences, an effective tool to learn about the complexities of the world, how international community deals with economic and environmental concerns, human rights violations, disarmament and political conflicts and other global issues. A forum where you can enhance communication skills, learn about other countries, promote democracy, explore conflict resolutions and develop negotiations. A forum that prepares the new diplomats and leaders of the world.

Your participation requires preparation as to the structure and functions of the Organizations, the Committees to which you are assigned, the issues of the agenda, the policies of the assigned country concerning these issues and mostly about the rules of procedure. You must behave as a real diplomat and dresses as one. You must be punctual, always present and very active during the meetings.

I hope to see you all in Thessaloniki, April 27, promising that the Secretary General Mr. Paligiannis Vasileios and the Organizing Committee will offer you an unforgettable ThessISMUN.

Best regards,

Professor Paroula Naskou-Perraki
