Head of Crisis Team: Dimitris Zacharopoulos
Dimitris Zacharopoulos, born and raised in the city of Patras, is going to be the Head of Crisis Team for ThessISMUN 2018. He is confident that in ThessISMUN the participants will have a unique chance to conceptualize the work and the procedures of some of the most essential UN bodies, leading hopefully to an even better understanding of the complexity and diversity of today’s international politics.
From an early age, he came across with the so called MUN experience and since then he has participated in numerous simulations of national, regional and international bodies. Currently living and pursuing his last year of studies at Panteion University in Athens, Dimitris is highly interested in international politics and relations, especially when it comes to regions like Middle East and issues such as terrorism, bilateral conflicts and other global threats.
Crisis Coordinator:
Crisis Coordinator: Iason Lavdas
My name is Iason Lavdas and I’m 22 years old, born and raised in Athens, Greece.I am studying in Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, specifically in the Department of International, European and Area Studies. Strategic Studies and International Security are the main academic sectors I’m interested to, although I’m surprisingly good when it comes to issues of Public International Law.
I started participating in MUNs since I was a high school student and for the years that followed, in many Model United Nations (MUNs) and other simulations of the European Union, Regional and International Organizations, in Greece and other countries as well.
In this year’s ThessISMUN edition I will be serving as a crisis coordinator. I will be more than happy and excited to form challenging scenarios that will fuel the debates. I’m more than sure that it will be a great experience for those who choose to participate in this year’s conference.
