UN Secretary General

Stefanos Katsoulis is a PhD student at the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, in the field of the Law of International Economic Organizations. He holds an MA in International Economic Relations and a BA in International and European Economic Studies of the University of Macedonia.

He serves as the President of Thessaloniki Youth Club for UNESCO and the Project Coordinator of the Jean Monnet Project “Strategies and Policies on Youth in the European Union” (EUSYP). He is the Administrator of the Joint Master’s Programme in Human Rights and Migration Studies at the University of Macedonia and collaborator of the "UNESCO Chair in Intercultural Policy" of the University of Macedonia. Previously he was employed as a project coordinator at the Centre of International and European Economic Law (CIEEL) in Thessaloniki, dealing mostly with Twinning Projects, the EU's instruments for institutional cooperation between Public Administrations of EU Member States and of beneficiary or partner countries. In the past he had worked as a project and administrative assistant in the organisation "Symβiosis-Civic School of Political Studies of the Council of Europe" and as a project coordinator and research assistant in various organisations.

Deeply appreciating the importance of the simulation-based educational activities, he is the administrative coordinator of the "Thessaloniki International Student Model United Nations" (ThessISMUN) (since 2009) and a Member of the Organising Committees of the Panhellenic High-School Simulation Conference of the UN Human Rights Committees “Students as Diplomats” (since 2017) and the Rhodes Model of Regional Cooperation (since 2010). Stefanos will serve as the Secretary General of the United Nations in the 20th anniversary edition of ThessISMUN, promising an outstanding experience!
