My name is Georgios Pastelis and it is an honor to address you from the position of the President of the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. I am 21 years old and I currently study at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in the department of Political Science. My studies, of course, affected my interests, which range from politics and international relations to social issues, such as racism, sexism and homophobia.
Regarding my MUN experience, it all started during the first year of my studies. MUNs helped me improve my rhetorical skills, my way of thinking and made me more confident. But most importantly, I got the chance to meet many amazing people, with common interests, around the world. It is a great pleasure that after two years of being a delegate in ThessISMUN, I will now serve as a board member in a conference with a high academic level, but most importantly a conference, where I took my first steps as a participant in such simulations.
I am looking forward to meeting all the future delegates, that are going to be a part of our team and, without a doubt, to co-operate with my co-chairs in order to make ThessISMUN 2019 an unforgettable experience for everyone.
