UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC): Chair

Dimitris Fytsilis was born and raised in Athens, more specifically in the beautiful neighborhood Koukaki. He is 22 years old and studies Political Science and International Relations, at the University of Peloponnese, in the senior year. He has interned at the Institute of International Relations and participates in the CEMMIS Research Center (Center for Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Studies) His academic interests are Greek foreign policy and cultural diplomacy. In his free time, he likes walking across the historical center of Athens and enjoys the beautiful sightseeing of the capital. He also likes traveling around the world, as he has visited 18 countries since he was 7 years old.

As for his life as a MUNer, his simulation journey began in 2017, when he was in the 2nd
year of his studies. Since then, he has successfully participated in more than 10 simulations of national, regional and international organizations, both as a delegate and a chairperson, and also has managed to finalize his university studies. 

It is his honor and pleasure to welcome you all in ThessISMUN 2020, as the Chair of the
Economic and Social Council. Through the MUNs he has had the opportunity to enhance his communication skills and expand his knowledge of diplomacy and negotiation. So, he is looking forward to moderate discussions on crucial matters and meets young delegates, because conferences are not only diplomacy but communication with other people as well.
