UN Security Council: Vice-President

Distinguished Delegates,

My name is Natalia Liarostathi and it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 2018 Thessaloniki International Student Model United Nations and to the Security Council where I will have the great honour to serve as the Vice-President.

I was born in Athens and I have studies Political Science and Public Administration at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, specialising in International and European Studies. Currently I am doing my MA’s degree in Conflict, Security and Development in King’s College London.

My MUN journey began two years ago and the experience had me mesmerised from the first moment. I have attended MUN’s in Greece and abroad, that have provided me with passion and curiosity for the international community and it’s developments.

My interest in MUN’s emanates from my curiosity about the world of international relations. I always found myself enraptured by the mystery behind the ways that decision making was made possible in such abyssal environments, where opposed interests and even ways of understanding the world meet. MUN’s have the ability to teach you how and why in those conditions compromising is often the way that you have to follow in order to achieve a commonly accepted goal.

I cannot forget to mention that in the context of MUN’s you can meet people who share your ideas and interests and you have the amazing opportunity to make memories that will stay with you for a lifetime.

My honourable President, Panagiotis, and I, will be at your disposal for anything you may need during any stage of the process. We are looking forward to meeting each and every one of you and we can promise you that we will do our best to make those days an MUN to remember.

Sincerely,
Natalia Liarostathi
