UN General Assembly – 1st Committee: Co-Chair

Ioannis Koutsoumpinas was born in Amarousio in 1999 and raised in Piraeus. He is currently in his 3 rd year of undergraduate studies at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Faculty of Law. His interests include international law and relations, private law (esp. civil law and labor law), world history and politics. In the future, he aspires to practice law and serve the legal science as a Professor of law.

He has been heavily involved with the MUN world ever since he was in his first year. ThesISMUN 2020 will be his 6 th MUN experience and the first where he will be serving as a board member. He has, throughout the years, been assigned very difficult countries to represent, culminating in his representing the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Security Council in ThesISMUN 2019, and has been honored multiple times with the top awards of the committee. To anyone asking “What is the best part of the MUN experience?” he would, without hesitation, respond: “Getting to know people through the art of negotiation, of course”.

MUN’s provide a wonderful opportunity to broaden your horizons and grow as a person. Ioannis sees as his duty in ThesISMUN 2020 to make sure that participants have the same unforgettable experience he has had twice as a Delegate in a ThesISMUN conference.
