Zarogianni Fotini was born and raised in the picturesque city of Thessaloniki. She considers herself to be a highly communicative and hardworking person with hobbies, such as the reading of books and photography.
She is currently studying at the Faculty of Law of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, while her academic and professional interests focus on international relations, international law and, most importantly, diplomacy. Thus, she has proceeded, among others, with internships at the International Relations Office of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Thessaloniki, at the Headquarters of the aforementioned Ministry in Athens, at the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Greece’s Headquarters in Thessaloniki, at the Jean Monnet Chair on European Union Social Rights Protection and Comparative Legal Cultures, and at the Centre for International and European Economic Law. Additionally, she served as a member of the Organising Committee of the International Congress on the Protection of Social Rights in Europe and the European Social Charter that was held in Thessaloniki in October 2019.
As far as MUNs are concerned, she has successfully held various positions in numerous conferences, in Greece and abroad, for the past eight years. All these experiences led her to the belief that such conferences can really be the stepping stone for one to not only broaden and nourish their critical thinking, academic horizons, knowledge of the international status-quo or public speaking and communication skills, but also to strengthen their character, foster their values and, perhaps, create concrete friendships.
All things considered, it will be her honour and priviledge to serve as the President of the United Nations General Assembly, and from this position she strongly encourages each and every one of the participants to gain as much as one can from this year’s edition of ThessISMUN. Danai, Erato, Anastasis, Dionisis and herself will all make sure that ThessISMUN 2020 constitutes an event and a memory worth cherishing.
